I wanted to share this great blog about being an LDS / Mormon woman in life today. It's a great place to start sharing thoughts about life and religion in our society. There are many anti-Mormon blogs and misunderstandings about being LDS -- we are somehow thought of as being associated with the Amish or polygamist cults. It's not accurate at all, and I think it's nice to get correct information to the public about what we believe -- as well as share our testimonies of Jesus Christ and his Atonement. I'm very happy to support this blogger in her efforts to share her thoughts and feelings - not just about being a Latter-day Saint - but about being a single mom, about coping and staying on top of things in a life that is filled with so many distractions. She also has a blog about simplifying and organizing which is fantastic.

Finding the Best iPhone, iTouch and iPod Cases

Hi all -- I have an iTouch, an iPod and just got my new 3G iPhone. I have purchased several cases online -- the silicon type skin to protect my stuff. I love the orange one I found on eBay for my BlackBerry -- but I've bought several variations for my ipod and they are literally horrible. Wasted money. One came and it was so flimsy that the edges bulged off the iTouch -- not even tight and looked dumb.

So the past few days I've been searching all over for a cool looking case. They have some that are pretty sturdy and have good ratings, but they only come in either black, or gray, or some have blue or light pink. Just not my style.

I wanted an orange iphone case, or a purple itouch case, or even a lime green case. Something fun -- but good quality.

Well, I finally found a company that let's me customize my own iphone, ipod, itouch case. I'm getting a light purple with sage green side, and water droplets on the ipod, a red one for my upcoming 3G iphone, and haven't quite decided about my iTouch (since my iPhone will replace that one.) But I love the idea of everyone getting to personalize their own skins -- rather than just having a few standards. Plus, they are cheaper than many of the skins out there.

Paper Crafts magazine is looking for fresh, fun, paper-based projects that are innovative and in sync with today's trends. We're interested in a variety of items including but not limited to: handmade greeting cards; journal covers; gifts and home accents such as boxes, frames, wall art, shadow boxes, paper jewelry, and decoupaged items; party invitations and decor. We're looking for all kinds of embellishments and techniques such as stamping, embossing (dry, wet, metal and UTEE), watercoloring, pop-up and interactive designs, cast and handmade paper, shaker boxes, beading, sewing on paper, wire, the sky's the limit!

Scrapbook Calendars

I love this idea -- creating a calendar with all of my photos from the previous year. I've always done a family calendar -- but with Shutterfly it's so easy -- just upload the photos -- use one of their templates -- add some special dates in -- and you're ready to go. It is going to save me tons of money and time this year! Very cool.

If you love to read -- like I do -- check out my new Amazon.com bookstore. I'm getting ready to move -- and have hundreds of brand new books (or barely used books) that I'm trying to sell before I move. I have lots of LDS books, self-help or self-improvement books, business books, and much more.

I really hate to get rid of books, but I have way too many to move and I'm never going to read them all -- so I decided finally to simplify my life and give others a great deal on great books. :-)

This coming week, I'm going to take all of the scrapbook supplies that I didn't sell during my garage sale, and put them up on eBay. I'll let you know when they are up, so you can check it out. There are going to be some great deals -- stickers, DOTS and Close to My Heart rubber stamps, paper, and much more. I may end up putting some up in lots, rather than individual items.

Anyway, I just need to take the time to get everything listed.

Scrapbook Garage Sale Results

I wish to thank all of those who attended our multi-family scrapbook / garage sale on Saturday. The money earned was greatly needed and we appreciate the support.

I was deeply saddened to see how many items were stolen. It was very surprising to me that in my small community this would happen. (Perhaps I'm too trusting.) It took me all day to get over the negative feelings this left. I know it happens "out there" but I didn't think it would happen here, and if it did, I didn't think there would be so much taken.

My brother reminded me about one of my favorite stories -- Les Miserable -- when the Bishop offered the stolen candlesticks with his blessing -- and along with it, the opportunity for Jean-val-Jean to create a new and righteous life for himself.

So, I would like to offer this message to anyone who took items without paying. Please accept those items with my blessing.

None of the items stolen were worth enough to give someone a new life, however I freely give them to you and hope you will receive this gift as an opportunity to change your life for the better.

And to all of you who were so nice and so happy with your scrapbooking supplies and other purchases -- it was very much a pleasure to meet you. Thank you again for all of your support!

Hi all -- so I've decided to sell most of my scrapbooking supplies (since I'm going digital). I'm going to have a huge garage / scrapbook sale on the 16th of June. If you live in the Orem/Utah area -- please stop by. I'll have all of the scrapbook papers and stickers that I designed for Rocky Mountain Scrapbook -- along with embellishments, tools, scrapbook organizers, and tons of other stuff. I have probably $2,000 of DOTS / Close to My Heart Rubber Stamps -- most of which have never been used. Scrapbook Supplies for Sale

Hi all --

I've been trying to focus on some new things in my life -- and I have realized lately how much "stuff" I have that I'm not really using and probably won't ever use. I have a huge closet packed full of scrapbooking supplies -- every kind of tool, embellishment, rubber stamps, stickers, scrapbook paper, templates, idea books, markers, etc.

I've decided that I am so busy right now that I'm realistically not going to use the supplies -- and because I'm going to more digital scrapbooking -- I won't be needing most of the physical scrapbooking stuff anyway. So, I'm looking at selling everything. I have probably $20,000 worth of scrapbook stuff -- and would like to get at least $5,000 for everything.

Do you have any suggestions on the best way to sell scrapbook supplies?

I thought about selling on eBay but then there's the eBay fees which are getting ridiculously high, and the issues with shipping 12x12 paper and awkward sizes, and then having to list everything. So I think I've ruled that out.

Then I've thought about having a garage sale -- but do you get very much from a garage sale? Is the time spent getting everything ready worth it? That may be the way I'll end up going -- but I thought I'd open up the discussion to the scrapbooking community at large.

If you have any suggestions for me on how to sell of of my scrapbook supplies, please let me know! Thanks so much!

Hiring Marketing Students

Hi all --

I'm looking for a couple of marketing students who would like to earn money this summer (on commission). I have a CD about "The Testaments" (LDS Film) and need creative marketing for it. I want people who love the film, love the LDS culture, and can think outside the box.

You don't have to be a marketing student -- even if you wanted to take some to a local county fair, or spread the word in your local area -- let me know what you would like to do and we can work out a commission for you.

I have a list of about 50 ways we can market the CD, but don't have time myself to do the marketing.
