Power of Positive Thinking

During the past few years I have studied extensively the power of positive thinking. I believe that what we focus on is what we experience. If we are hiking and the sun is beating down on us, we are thirsty, and tired -- what are we generally thinking about? It's that we are hot, thirsty and tired -- right?

But what if we have been locked in a cage for years and this is the first time we are outside in the sun? Do you think our focus could be different? What if this is the first time we've been able to see? Would we be thinking about being hot -- or feeling thrilled and excited just looking at the blue sky, the trees, and little flowers along the path?

It all comes down to perspective and what we focus our energies on. Are we present in the moment -- enjoying what IS -- or are we thinking about the hundred things we need or should be doing?

I believe positive thinking is important, but not just "thinking" -- we need to FEEL and IMAGINE what we want. It's also important to use positive words in our conversation. I've felt the difference in my own life when I have used words which build versus words that criticize -- it changes the energy not only in my conversation but also in my own body.

"No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit." -- Helen Keller
I love the attitude Helen Keller presented in her life. She focused her energies on discovery and learning -- and look at the life she led. She is an inspiration to me and I hope to keep getting better and better at focusing on the positive in life and enjoying "what is".

Internet Marketing Training

Hi all,

I'll be teaching an internet marketing training class along with my business partner, Wendy Bentley, who will be covering some more traditional marketing methods to drive traffic to your website and increase sales.

I'm inviting any of my readers to attend the class. If you have a website or online store, we will give you 30-40 tactics you can use to increase your online traffic and generate more sales.

This will be Marketing 101 - a class for people who want to do business online, but don't necessarily have much computer experience or technical background. Later on we will offer an advanced class on how to optimize your website for more free exposure online and other more technical strategies to bring people to your website.

The training will be held on Saturday, June 24th from 9-11:00 a.m. at the Team Everest Headquarters located at 727 N. 1550 E. Suite 175 in Orem, Utah. The cost for this beginner marketing training is only $25 per person - you can pay at the door.

Please feel free to comment and let me know if you have any specific questions.

Scrapbook.com Acquires Scrapjazz.com

Scrapbook.com has acquired Scrapjazz.com and ScrapTutor.com. Scrapbook.com announced in their newsletter and on their site that they have recently purchased Scrapjazz -- a huge online resource for scrapbooking information and education. Although it will probably take some time to integrate the two sites, this will be of great benefit to scrapbookers. Not only will we be able to purchase supplies online, but we can also get tons of information about new techniques, the latest trends, and tips on creating great layouts. I think this merger will be received well and wish the best to both companies.

Crop-A-Dile - CHA Favorite

Okay -- so I've been so busy I still have not blogged about all of my 2006 CHA Scrapbook Favorites. I have a list of products that I selected at CHA in Las Vegas -- personal favorites and wanted to give a list of those products, so you can know what's coming. But time has just flown by and the products are out on shelves now, so you may have seen them already.

Anyway, I have a few minutes today, so I thought I'd blog about my #1 Favorite Tool for Scrapbooking. The Crop-A-Dile by We R Memory Keepers is really cool. Crop-A-Dile is an all-in-one tool to set eyelets, punch holes, set snaps and much more. You can punch through almost any fabric -- I even watched while the distributor punched through leather and a metal can. It's strong enough to punch through plastic, metal, chipboard, fabric, wood, acrylic and more. It is easy to use and has many size settings for all types of eyelets and embellishing. I loved this tool -- it will make scrapbooking easier and I'll have less tools to keep track of. You can purchase one at your local scrapbooking store or online at Scrapbook.com. I give the Crop-A-Dile a 4 punch rating. :-)

Taylor Hicks to Perform at the Stadium of Fire - July 1st

It was announced this morning that Taylor Hicks is coming to Utah! The latest American Idol will be performing at the Stadium of Fire on July 1st, 2006 in Provo Utah. Taylor will be joining Lee Ann Womack, the Battle of the Bands and other entertainers to celebrate our freedom.

I'm so excited. I love Taylor. I picked him as the winner of American Idol during the first few rounds -- and was very glad to see him make it all the way through. I predict he will have a very long career -- his sound is unique, his style is classic Taylor Hicks, and he has an incredible love of music.

I know tickets are still available, but are going fast -- you can get more information about buying tickets at the Official Stadium of Fire Website.

Welcome Taylor! Can't wait to see you perform live!
